Do You Smell What the Radiant Team Is Cooking, Glasgow, Scotland?! 🔥
Finally, we’ve reached the point of no return, guys! Tonight, the big guns are going to clash for gold: Chad Gable gets one more shot at Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Championship, Cody Rhodes battles the furious AJ Styles in an “I Quit” match for the Undisputed Universal Title, and Scotland’s own Drew McIntyre looks to reclaim his championship from the relentless Damian Priest.
And that’s not all — we’ve got other cool matches lined up, and I can’t wait to see what kind of madness WWE has in store for us tonight. Let’s gooooooo! 💥
Undisputed Universal Championship “I Quit” Match: AJ Styles vs Cody Rhodes (C)
We haven’t seen an “I Quit” match in a long time, which only made this one even more exciting. No rules. No count-outs. The only way to win? Make your opponent utter the humiliating words: “I Quit.” A brutal task, especially when AJ Styles had the looming backup of The OC’s Gallows and Anderson somewhere in the shadows. On the other side, Cody Rhodes was under enormous pressure — this wasn’t just about defending his title. It was about the legacy of dethroning Roman Reigns.
The crowd erupted with chants of “Cody! Cody Rhooooodes”, showing off their fresh Glasgow flavor. The match started traditionally, trading standard attacks — until Cody suddenly grabbed several tables! He even asked the referee to check if AJ wanted to quit early, almost like he didn’t truly want to hurt him. Or… maybe he just wanted to look merciful? The battle spilled into the crowd, with fans inches away from the chaos, before heading backstage. Things looked wild, but surprisingly they didn’t stay back there long, returning to ringside where Cody completely took control. He locked AJ into a Figure-Four Leg Lock in the center of the ring — Styles screamed in pain but refused to quit!
Momentum shifted when Cody took a nasty fall to the outside, followed by a hard slam onto the announce table and a brutal Brainbuster! Styles then made Cody bleed badly, and the tone of the match turned savage. AJ tried to make Cody quit, but the champ wouldn’t surrender. Cody almost landed Cross Rhodes, but AJ escaped and countered with a clean Pele Kick. At this point, the only options left were weapons or devastating submissions. Styles grabbed a steel chair and cracked it across Cody’s neck — but still, the champion wouldn’t say the words. Then came the kendo stick, delivering vicious strikes, but Cody’s answer was a blood-soaked “Hell no!”
Styles considered targeting Cody’s mom at ringside — which would’ve been evil genius — but instead, he grabbed a leather belt to deliver a merciless whipping. Still, nothing worked. Next up? The STF submission. Cody seemed to pass out, and for a second it looked like AJ had won… but in this match, knocking someone out doesn’t count. You’ve got to make them quit. Now AJ brought out handcuffs, leaving Cody completely defenseless. Styles approached Cody’s mom — and got slapped hard in the face! Never mess with Mama Rhodes 😤. Styles, now furious, wrapped a steel chain around his forearm, ready to end it all — but Cody hurled a chair into his face, shifting the match again!
Cody broke free and regained control, with the crowd going absolutely insane. He hit not one, not two, but THREE Cross Rhodes on Styles onto a steel chair, then chained AJ to the ropes and went to town with a steel chair assault. Still, AJ refused to quit. Finally, Cody lifted big steel steps, threatening a direct shot to AJ’s skull. That was the breaking point. “I QUIT!” yelled AJ Styles. Too little, too late — Cody still smashed him with the steel steps anyways 😵💫. That sent a massive message to the entire locker room: this champion plays no games.
But the night wasn’t over. Just as Cody celebrated, Solo Sikoa appeared behind him, flanked by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa! The trio attacked the worn-out champion — but Cody had reinforcements! Kevin Owens and Randy Orton rushed in and we got a full-blown old-school six-man brawl! 💥 The Head of the Table warned Cody weeks ago, and Rhodes didn’t take it seriously. Well… the message has now been delivered. And I’m beyond hyped to see how The Bloodline takes this war to the next level!
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill (C) vs. Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre vs. Zoey Stark & Shayna Baszler
A massive triple threat for the Women’s Tag Team Championships, and honestly, I had two potential winners going in. The current champions looked strong and untouchable, but let’s not forget — Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn are hometown heroes, so the Scottish crowd was fully behind them. Shayna and Zoey? Definitely stronger than Unholy Union on paper, but not quite at the level of powerhouse duo Bianca and Jade, at least in my eyes. Then again, with triple threat rules… anything can happen!
Also, side note: Jade Cargill’s ring gear was 🔥 — totally giving off ancient warrior vibes. Tough and stunning at the same time.
The match kicked off with Isla, Bianca, and Shayna in the ring, and as expected, it was pure chaos. The champions dominated early with ease. Once Jade tagged in, it was clear — she’s on a different level. She and Bianca absolutely demolished the opposition.
Eventually, the contenders decided to team up outside the ring to isolate the champs and then turn on each other. A solid strategy… but not sure it benefited much in finals considering power of Bianca and Jade. Still, for a while it turned into a handicap match against the champs, allowing get rid of biggest threat of the match for a while.
Clash at the Castle 2024 - A signature element of any great triple threat match is the explosive combination of a powerbomb and superplex.
Once the dust settled, we finally got to see Unholy Union clash with Zoey and Shayna, and surprisingly, the hometown girls started gaining serious momentum! The match really picked up from here — high speed, constant tags, and an intense superplex spot that saw Bianca land awkwardly on her neck. It looked dangerous, but she tagged in Cargill just in time.
Cargill nearly fell to a Kirifuda Clutch, but Bianca made the save, and together they hit a huge double-team move on Baszler. This should’ve been the win, but suddenly Isla Dawn jumped in at the last second… AND STOLE THE VICTORY!
🏆 UNHOLY UNION are your NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions!
The crowd exploded. It was a historic and emotional win for two young Scottish warriors in front of their people. As I always say: home gives strength! 💙 What a moment.
Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn (C) vs. Chad Gable
This rivalry just won’t die — two months of Gable chasing Sami’s title, and it’s been a wild journey. In their first match, Gable gave it his all, but ironically, he had trained Sami too well… and the student defeated the master. That’s when Gable snapped, realizing he couldn’t beat Zayn fairly — and so, Alpha Academy got dragged into his downward spiral. Tonight was especially important for Otis. Would he stay loyal to his abusive mentor, or finally stand up for what’s right? I truly hoped he’d choose the light — because if Gable lost again tonight, it could destroy what’s left of his sanity.
The match began with both men countering each other instinctively — they know each other too well. Outside the ring, Sami pleaded with Otis to trust his heart and stay out of Gable’s games. The champion’s left shoulder was exposed, which Gable immediately targeted. Smart strategy — but it won’t stop a Helluva Kick. Gable took control for a bit, but Sami fired back with a beautiful Michinoku Driver (one of my favorite moves!). Gable responded with a massive powerbomb and diving headbutt, but still couldn’t finish the job. The tension grew with every counter and near fall. A Crossface from Gable nearly forced Zayn to tap, but Sami reversed it into one of his own! These two are chess masters in the ring. Gable applied his deadly Ankle Lock, but even that couldn’t put Sami away.
Then came the dirty tricks. Gable handed the title to Maxxine, ordering her to smash Sami with it — but she couldn’t do it. He berated her, losing focus. Sami lined up a Helluva Kick, but Gable dodged — and Sami almost knocked Maxxine out! That gave Gable the opening to hit the Chaos Theory! 1… 2… 2.9 — KICKOUT! 😱 Gable was completely unhinged now. He started yelling at Maxxine again, but this time, Otis stepped in between them. Just when things got emotional, Sami accidentally dived into Otis, who took the hit for Gable. What a tragic twist! On the outside, Gable locked Sami into the Ankle Lock again, but Zayn countered — sending Chad crashing into Maxxine’s injured leg! That was it. Otis had seen enough. With Maxxine hurt, Otis refused to help Gable and instead walked away with her. 💔 True love wins. The tyrant is left alone.
Distracted and broken, Gable turned around — right into the Helluva Kick! And STILL your Intercontinental Champion: Sami Zayn! 🏆 I’m really happy that Otis and Maxxine finally chose the right path, and Chad Gable’s twisted ego couldn’t triumph tonight. It was emotional, intense, and possibly the final chapter in this saga. After the bell, Sami looked Gable in the eye — and you could just feel it: This was your last chance.
WWE Women’s Championship: Bayley (C) vs. Piper Niven
Tonight, Scotland’s own Piper Niven stepped up for the biggest opportunity of her career — to win her first WWE title by dethroning Bayley, the Role Model. And after Unholy Union’s earlier win, I was 150% sure Piper was going to ride that wave of Scottish energy all the way to championship gold. Especially with Chelsea Green lurking at ringside — though, let’s be honest, she’s just as likely to help as she is to ruin everything.
Before the bell, I’ve got to mention: Chelsea’s look tonight was pure chaos — controversial, sexy, and magnetic, as always. That girl knows how to turn heads.
Meanwhile, Bayley came in with very little support, while the entire arena was behind Piper. The champ started out aggressive, but Niven immediately overpowered her, slamming her down with ease. Outside the ring, Chelsea slapped Bayley right in the face, which made for a great distraction — but the momentum didn’t last. When Chelsea tried to interfere again, Bayley stomped on her hand, and Chelsea snapped, yelling at the ref for not protecting her. Props to Charles Robinson for a clean eject — sending Green to the back and making this a fair fight.
With no distractions, Piper used her size and surprising agility to toss Bayley around the ring. But Bayley, as always, fought back with strategy. The classic method when facing a bigger opponent: make them hurt themselves. Use the ropes, the posts — survive until the right moment. That “moment” came after Piper hit a slam and Senton, but Bayley somehow kicked out. Piper went for a splash from the second rope, but Bayley blocked it and hit a Bayley-to-Belly from the same rope! That should’ve been it — but Chelsea came running back in, this time wearing a stolen Rey Mysterio mask, distracting the referee once again! 🤦♂️
The madness gave Piper time to recover and hit the Niven Driver! 1… 2… and Bayley kicks out?! 😵 Piper went for her finisher again, but Bayley reversed it. The match started speeding up — Running Senton missed, Roseplant got blocked, and suddenly Bayley rolled Piper up with a crucifix pin for the win. Meh. Not the most impressive victory. And so, the “meh” title reign continues. Bayley survived once again, and this match didn’t do much to elevate her. Meanwhile, Piper deserved better in front of her home crowd. A flat ending to what could’ve been a massive moment.
World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest (C) vs. Drew McIntyre
This was the main event, the final battle of the night — and it had all the weight it deserved. Scotland’s own Drew McIntyre, back in front of his people, trying to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest. Judgment Day was banned from ringside, so this was supposed to be a clean, brutal fight. But we all knew better — especially with next week's Raw in Chicago, the city of one Phil Brooks. I warned you: Punk was coming. Drew’s entrance was EPIC — live orchestra, District Pipe Band, the works. If you love bagpipes, it was heaven. The energy in that arena? Unreal. McIntyre was locked in. And to be honest, I truly believed this was his moment.
The match started hot, with Drew unloading on Priest and throwing him out of the ring early. But Priest turned things around, using the ring post and barricades like weapons. Don’t sleep on Damian — the guy’s got power, as he proved with a Broken Arrow and heavy strikes. Then disaster struck. Priest tried a dive, but his leg got caught on the ropes, and it looked bad. Like possibly-broken-ankle bad. Respect to Drew, who freed him instead of taking the cheap shot. Even injured, Priest kept swinging, but now it was only a matter of time before Claymore connected. Both men fought like giants — Priest lifted Drew with a Razor’s Edge, but the warrior kicked out. We even got the classic middle-of-the-ring slugfest, both guys throwing bombs. And then — BOOM — Drew hit a Claymore outside the ring that sent Priest crashing through the barricade! 💥
But you can't win a title out there, and Drew knew it. He rolled Priest back in, lined up for the second Claymore — and it got BLOCKED. Priest hit the South of Heaven chokeslam! 1… 2… NO! Drew kicks out! This was nuts. Then Priest tried a hurricanrana from the top rope (!!!) — but Drew came with immediate counter - devastating Claymore! And Priest kicked out AGAIN. WHAT?! Then came the heartbreak. The ref got knocked down in the chaos. Drew hit a third Claymore — the match was over, but there was no one to count.
And then.. Someone starts to count but not for count three. What in the world this ref doing?! Take a closer look! CM PUNK is in Glasgow. 😱 Drew goes after him, but Punk hits a low blow, right to the family jewels of the Scottish Warrior 💔. The ref conveniently wakes up just in time to see Priest land a final South of Heaven. 1… 2… 3. Damian Priest retains. Once again, Drew McIntyre loses in his own country, robbed by CM Punk. As I warned, Phil Brooks is here to ruin lives.
And now, El Campeón has another terrifying problem: Gunther is still may come for him on SummerSlam. But for now it is time to celebrate.
Final Thoughts
This show was absolutely mind-blowing in Glasgow, Scotland! Some of my predictions hit the mark, while others went completely off the rails — and I loved every second of it. Let’s take a deep breath after that chaotic PLE and break it all down.
🩸 Cody Is Facing Demons from His Past
The night kicked off with a brutal “I Quit” match between fan-favorite Cody Rhodes and his old rival AJ Styles, and what a war that was. I fully expected OC members to interfere, but AJ shocked me by going solo. He came dangerously close to making Cody quit, but in the end, nothing could break the spirit of the champion.
This wasn't your usual Cody match. He didn’t just survive — he got dark, bringing out his inner nightmare with steel chairs, chains, and cold-blooded aggression. 🔥 Then came the chaos after the bell — Solo Sikoa confronted the champ, backed by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, only for Kevin Owens and Randy Orton to storm in, sparking a wild six-man brawl. ⚔️ I’m fully expecting a huge tag team showdown at Money in the Bank, and Cody’s reign is about to go through a serious Bloodline stress test.
🕷️ Unholy Upset?
Just as I feared — triple threat chaos took down dominant champions. While Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill were clearly the strongest team on paper, you can’t predict a triple threat. All it takes is the right moment… and Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre seized it.
Unholy Union got a hometown miracle, but let’s not lie to ourselves — Bianca and Jade will want their titles back. That said, maybe it’s time those two focus on solo success. They’re both built for main-event glory. 🏴☠️ But for tonight, Scotland’s own are champions, and the arena told no lies: “You deserve it!” I half agree — let’s see if they can back up this upset with a strong reign.
🔚 The End of a Long Rivalry
Sami Zayn beat Chad Gable for the third time in a row. Clean. No excuses. Gable tried everything — his moveset, tactics, and manipulation, even involving Otis and Maxxine. But nothing worked. He’s got no one to blame but himself. Something snapped in Chad tonight. I can feel it — this could be the beginning of a brutal war with Otis, and Maxxine will be caught in the crossfire.
Meanwhile, Sami should start preparing. Because Bron Breakker is coming, and he already warned Adam Pearce that he’s going to snap the Intercontinental Champion in half. Yikes. ⚠️ We’re not done with violence. Not even close.
👑 Bayley Is Still Our Women’s Champion… Somehow
Piper Niven gave it a real shot, and I truly believed tonight was her moment. But once again, Bayley escaped, with minimal offense and barely any shine. 🤷♂️ With Nia Jax waiting in the wings, I don’t see Bayley escaping again. The Queen of the Ring doesn’t play around, and she won’t make the same mistakes Piper did. That title reign might be counting its final days. Bayley survived… but that’s about all she did. Reign continues. Interest? Not really.
💔 CM Punk Ruins Drew’s Moment… Again
Let’s get one thing straight: Damian Priest has a champion’s heart. Even after injuring his leg mid-match, he still kept going. But make no mistake — Drew McIntyre was stronger, and this should’ve been his moment.
But just like I feared, CM Punk showed up and crushed Scottish dreams again. He cost Drew at WrestleMania, and now again in front of his home crowd. A low blow from Punk was all it took, followed by a chokeslam from Priest, and just like that — McIntyre lost everything.
💀 This isn’t a rivalry anymore. It’s war. And it won’t end until one man is left broken. Now Priest gets to keep celebrating — but Gunther is coming, and Judgment Day won’t be able to save him from the Ring General.
Clash at the Castle 2024 was fantastic, and I wasn’t disappointed. We saw feuds end, new stories begin, and the crowd was electric all night. Now we head to Chicago for Raw, and with Money in the Bank qualifiers about to kick off, this month is going to be absolutely stacked.
🔥 See you soon, and thanks for reading — Radiant Team out! 💪
